What’s up
I’d like to you all a little into my personal life. I do not do this much, so I may not even keep this blog post up for a long period of time. I just believe that no matter what you do in life, you should have a level of privacy, but this one I can let you all in on.
My daughter, Daisy Marie Smith was born at 2:56 a.m. on October 6th. As you can imagine, it was the best news because she really was not supposed to be here, but we all pray for a safe delivery of a newborn child. About an hour or so later, I received a call saying that Daisy had to be rushed to the NICU because she was not producing oxygen to her body. I rush to the hospital to learn that my baby, my fresh baby, my baby who was born 5 months after the passing of mom, this gift from God was born with “Transposition of the Great Vessels”. This means that my child needed to have open heart surgery in order to correct the issue. My child stayed in the hospital 3 weeks total to have the surgery and heal.
Can you believe that I did not question God? Can you believe that I had not doubt that she would be taken care of? I was blessed to give her the name of the 2 strongest women to walk this earth.
Daisy is the name of my aunt who was more like my grandmother. Marie is the name of my mom who I just mentioned passed away earlier this year.
It was tough to see that pretty girl to endure such a process as she did, but she literally touched the heart of every nurse, doctor, etc. that checked in on her. She was able to spread the love of God without even saying a word (because it’s not like she could talk, lol).
I’m glad that she is home and doing as a newborn should. Eating, sleeping, and sh.., well you know the rest.
What Else is New?
Well, we are getting back in the swing of things. I told you all before that I am the Director of Training for the National African American Gun Association, so that’s been really fun to step into. I’ve been able to work with some amazing people to lay out the foundation for the upcoming year.
We just completed our first Training Counselor’s course. The best thing to say about it is if you want to know what that means, then visit our website to learn more.
Also, we are posting at least 2 more classes this year with 1 of those taking place on Saturday, November 11th, 2023. It’s our Concealed Carry Course, so if you’re interested, please sign up by clicking on the EVENTS tab.
Thank you!
I want to thank each student who has attended a course this year, purchased a firearm, transferred a firearm, etc. It’s because of you that I am able to do what I love. I love to be able to meet people and teach about this very important topic!
If you did not get a chance to visit us, then look for dates going into next year. We should the 1st quarter online before the year is over.
